the following full-time positions as of Monday, September 6, 2010:

Customer Service Representative

Position Summary
  • Serves as a liaison between HMAA and its Members
  • Provides superior customer service via telephone, written correspondence, and/or in person

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years of experience in customer service, call centers, or a related area; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to work well with others and timely follow-up and resolution of customer inquiries
Quality Management Assistant

Position Summary
  • Facilitates and assists with quality management, compliance, and health plan accreditation
  • Coordinates the review and approval process for policies, procedures and documents
  • Assists with departmental and committee meetings and reports

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years of experience in administration or a related area; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task and work well with others
Utilization Review Nurse

Position Summary
  • Evaluates options and services to improve healthcare quality for HMAA members and to promote cost-effective outcomes
  • Facilitates and coordinates telephonic and on-site inpatient and outpatient care through precertification, concurrent review and discharge planning
  • Works closely with the Department Manager and Medical Director to evaluate and close cases once discharge criteria are met

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other health-related field; three years of experience in acute care, case management, disease management, utilization management, or related area; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, time management, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse
Utilization Review Supervisor

Position Summary
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Utilization Management (UM) Department including utilization review, pre-certification, and clinical reviews, under the direction of the Vice President of Claims and Third-Party Administration and Medical Director
  • Assists with activities in the areas of case management and disease management
  • Coordinates and directs hospital and facility-based concurrent review
  • Interfaces in other company programs involving quality healthcare delivery and wellness
  • Maintains and updates departmental policies and procedures, and composes internal and external correspondence

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or business, RN license, or equivalent; five years of experience in UM, health management or a related area; plus three years of supervisory or management experience
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, time management, supervisory, provider relations and verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
