  1. How can I join the HMAA/HWMG Network?

    Simply complete and submit our Provider Contracting Application

  2. How do I update my information with HMAA/HWMG?

    To update your name, Tax Identification Number, specialty, address, billing address, etc., or to add or terminate a practitioner from your practice:

    • Complete a Provider Add, Delete, or Change Form and fax it to (808) 591-0463 or mail it to 737 Bishop Street, Suite 1200, Honolulu, HI 96813
    • Call our Provider Services Department at (808) 591-0088 ext. 304 or Toll-Free at (800) 621-6998 ext. 304; or
    • Email our Provider Services Department at ProviderServices@hmaa.com
  3. Where should I send my claims?

    HMAA/HWMG accepts claims electronically through our partnerships with DentalXChange and TESIA-PCI clearinghouse.

    DentalXChange (Payor ID 48330) offers the following services through their ClaimConnect solutions suite:

    • Direct Data Entry solution at no cost to you
    • Compatible with nearly every PMS solution for batch submissions
    • No maintenance or software fees
    • Detailed on-line reporting and claims tracking

    TESIA-PCI (Payor ID TFQ61) also accepts claims from the following:

    • Dentrix/NIS (practice management software)
    • Renaissance Systems & Services (RSS)

    • CareStream
    • QSI
    • SecureEDI/ANS

  4. Who should I contact for questions regarding my contract, fee schedules, and other provider-related services?

    Please contact our Provider Services Department for questions regarding your contract, fee schedules, changes to practice locations or contact information, and other provider-related services (Online for Providers, electronic claims submission, etc.). Our Provider Services team strives to make it easy to do business with us and is available Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm.

  5. How do I obtain a copy of the Provider Administrative Procedure Manual and/or Dental Processing Guidelines?

    Our Provider Administrative Procedure Manual is an extension of your provider agreement and includes important information about our policies and procedures. In our Providers Forms and Information, a copy of the manual is available under the Administrative Procedure Manuals section and the procedure guidelines are available under the Claim Codes & Guidelines section.

  6. What dental services require pre-certification?

    Dental procedures requiring ASC or inpatient setting requires pre-certification.

  7. What dental services require pre-determination?

    Although they are not mandatory, pre-determinations are highly recommended for services over $300.

  8. How do I get a list of specialists to refer my patients to?

    You may go to our Provider Directory to obtain a list of specialists in our network in Hawaii and the Mainland.

  9. What electronic tools does HMAA/HWMG offer to providers?

    HMAA/HWMG offers a suite of electronic tools for free to our participating providers to maximize efficiency for your practice.
